In that same light, what should you include in your bio?

Who are you?


What are you all about?

Specifically, if someone was to ask you to describe yourself in a sentence, what would you say?

Like, use specific words, words that will push people to be curious about you.

Sell yourself and be intentional with your words.


What you do.


You could be a comedian but there are different types of comedians out there.

You could be a coach but there are a thousand other coaches out there.

It’s not just about stating facts but about being very specific.

If you are a coach, what type of coach are you?

What are you offering that is different from others?

And by being creative and intentional, you will attract people’s curiosity.

This is probably the most important part of your bio.

How will your audience gain from you?

What is it that you have to offer?

The only thing people care about is what’s in it for them.

They do not care how your Instagram looks, how pretty it may be but what they can gain.

What is important to your followers is what you are going to do for them.

So you want to share in a clear and concise way what it is you have to offer.

One of the phrases you can use is:

“I help people reach their business goals by *insert what you offer*” or

“I offer courses on how to market yourself”

This enables you to be precise so when people come to your page, they know who you are and what you are offering.

People are not going to do anything unless you tell them what to do.

For example, if you want them to buy your products, then you have to invite them into buying.

You might think using this hashtag will give you more chances of being seen.

But truth is, you might just find yourself being lost in that sea of many people using the same hashtag.

For instance, #mytravel or #travellifestyle.

Well, it’s simple. Go to the site besthashtags.com and in the search box, type in a hashtag you want to use.

If you take #travel, it will give you the best hashtags to use so your video will gain in popularity.

Once you get all the best hashtags, you want to switch them from time to time.

Do not use the same hashtags over and over again.

Also, by switching hashtags, you are able to know which ones bring in more views than others.

Society is always pushing us to be our all time best so being a perfectionist can easily become an obession.

I know the subject a little too well because I am a self-proclaimed perfectionist myself, or, at least I used to be.

Being a perfectionist made me think that my perfection was helping me achieve great things, whereas, it was actually holding me back.

Today, I want to share the downfalls of being a perfectionist, the cause, and how we can overcome them.

Let’s get into it.

How it all started – The Perfectionist:

I always used to take pride in the fact that I was a perfectionist.

I used to self-sabotage a lot by stopping myself from starting projects with the excuse of:

“Everything isn’t aligned right now”.

“It’s not the right time”

“I don’t have the right resources”.

And I thought it was a good thing because it gave me time to perfect my skill.

But what it ended up doing, was holding me back and it didn’t give me the chance to grow through the process.

I was stuck in an unending cycle of ‘perfection or nothing‘, making me miss so many opportunities.

We all face those moments where we feel like everything has to be perfect and the timing has to be right for us to make decisions.

That shouldn’t be the case because when we allow ourselves to become victimized by that, it does us more harm than good.

“Perfectionism is self-abuse of the highest order.” – Anne Wilson Schaef

The truth about perfectionism is that it’s a dupe.

Perfectionism oftentimes is really just the fear of rejection.

We fear what people might think of us if what we have submitted isn’t our best work.

We fear what they may say or if they might be disappointed in us.

Let’s say you want to start a business. Most people fall into this trap of overthinking:

‘I need to have my business cards first’

‘My website isn’t complete’

I have to create my business plan.’

Of course, all of that is important, but we spend so much time on the technicalities of the business, that we don’t get to actually start the business.

And the reason why we never get to the stage of completion is because we are too focused on how incomplete and imperfect it is.

We are scared people are not going to like our website or our business idea so we keep working on it relentlessly.

It’s really that fear of rejection that holds us in that spiral of perfectionism.

So, understanding that it’s not about what others think but more about your vision, helps you beat perfectionism and anxiety.

At the end of the day, you have to be honest with yourself.

Are you really a perfectionist or are you just scared of what others might think of you?

You have to look deep inside of you and come to terms with your fears and what’s really stopping you.

Most of the time, we are not even looking at our efforts but we are more focused on what others might think.

Eventually, you need to understand that it is okay to navigate through things you don’t know too well.

You don’t have to have it all figured out.

What matters most is how you react and how willing you are to learn.

And ultimately, what perfectionism leads to is procrastination because the more you want to be perfect, the more you delay your work.

How to overcome perfectionism and procrastination:

1. Understanding that the fear that you have is not going away.

Fear is part of the human package. It is natural to feel fear.

But we have to understand that, no matter how high or how far we go, there will always be fear.

For instance, the fear of rejection, loss, the unknown, not being enough, etc.

If you look at some of your influencers or celebrities, even when they get on stage to perform, they do say they feel fear.

It never goes away but the goal is to not let it dominate you.

In that same aspect, if you’re planning on starting a project, you have to realize that, that fear of what people might think of you will always be there.

You just have to push through and do it regardless.

I recommend reading the book ‘Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway’ by Susan Jeffers for more insight.

I remember hating cold showers as I grew up.

You would think I got used to it but no, it is always a dreadful experience for me.

But once I get past that fear and I pour the cold water on me, I realize it isn’t that bad after all.

It always leaves me feeling more plumped and invigorated.

It’s all in the head, along with the fear of starting a business or project.

Your thinking and the process you go through never really change.

Though, the key here is to understand that, your fear will never go away.

You just have to fight through it and win the battle of the mind.

Everything is worth it once you overcome your fears.

2. You are always going to be distracted.

We are in a fast moving society so there will always be distractions.

At the end of the day, there is never going to be a right time to launch your business or to start working on a project.

On top of dealing with the pressure of starting, there will always be so many distractions around you.

There is always going to be someone you can hang out with, a new series you need to watch, a new adventure, etc.

And because we are perfectionists, we will tend to procrastinate those things and do them later on.

However, you ought to realize that, NOW is the right time. NOW is the only time.

Because at the end of the day, tomorrow isn’t promised and the opportunity you have today may not be there tomorrow.

There is no greater sorrow than a missed opportunity.

So remember that there will always be things that try to pull you away from your focus.

Nevertheless, you need to be above them and push through the distractions.

Now, I have a question for you:

Are the distractions worth it? Are they worth your success?

I’m not saying you shouldn’t have fun but is spending time with your friends more important than building your business?

In life, we always have to set our priorities right.

Dedicate the necessary time and efforts needed for you to attain your goals.

Therefore, once your priorities are set, you won’t allow any other thing to distract you from building the life you want.

3. There is no perfection without completion:

How can you perfect something that isn’t done yet? You just can’t.

You have to start in order to see the errors or mistakes that need to be rectified as you move ahead.

That is why as perfectionists, we get stuck because we try so hard to perfect something that hasn’t even taken off yet.

If we look at developers, they always release beta versions of the apps they create.

WHY? In order to test the project to find errors and failures.

They get feedback from the users and they improve it to release a better version.

They never release a product that hasn’t been tested yet.

So, do not be scared. Release that blog. Start that channel without it being perfect and through time, you will perfect it.

Give yourself room to be better and to make better choices. No one starts perfectly.

In fact, it is through those imperfections that people will relate to you.

It is through those imperfections that people will notice the change and improvements you are making.

Being imperfect makes you human so don’t be so hard on yourself.

Start with what you have and with time, you will get to where you want to be.

What to remember:

There is no such thing as perfection and I am sure if it existed, you wouldn’t want it.

Why? Because after perfection, there is nothing left.

No room for growth, no room for progress. You are just stagnant.

The fun part of the process is reaching a goal and then making plans for the next one.

Such a mindset makes you excited for tomorrow. It makes you hope for a better future.

You should never underestimate the power in what you create.

To you, it may seem imperfect and not worthy, but to someone else, it could be life-changing.

That is the beauty of creating something, no matter how small or incomplete it may be.

But you will never know the impact you have unless you start.

So start now!

Even if you do want to achieve some sort of perfection, you need to do these simple steps:

  1. Start the project
  2. Complete the project
  3. Edit/improve the project as you move forward.

At some point, you have to take ownership of your life and realize that your life could be messy and it isn’t perfect.

But we shouldn’t try to be perfect.

We should simply try to be better and do what we were called to do on this earth.

In life, there is raw talent and there is someone who works hard enough to have the talent you have.

So, while you may have it easy, others won’t and simply because you have the talent, doesn’t mean you will have the opportunities.

Think of your raw talent as your beta sample. It is good but with feedback, and you working some more on it, it will be excellent.

But you have to express the raw talent first.


Attaining perfection could be toxic if we are solely focusing on the end product instead of the process.

Your goal should be striving for continuous growth instead of perfection.

So you shouldn’t fear starting a new project. Embrace that fear and do great things.

Through those little steps, you will be able to share your greatness with the world and impact lives more than ever.

Let go of the idea of being perfect. You don’t need to have it all figured out.

Start with what you have and build progressively.

We all feel scared from time to time but how to overcome that fear is one of the greatest challenges we face as humans.

Fear is basically a feeling of anxiety concerning the outcome of something; the fear of death, failure, sickness, heartbreak, etc.

Sadly, one of the mistakes we make is we give fear way too much credit and most of the time, the things we fear don’t actually exist.

It’s all an our head but we allow what doesn’t exist to stop us from doing something that could potentially change our lives.

So, how do you overcome fear? How do you get past that overwhelming sense of dread that keeps you stuck?

But first, let’s understand where fear comes from.

Where does fear come from?

Fear originally came from a biological standpoint because if we look back to the ancient days, there was a real fear to stay alive so our brain instilled fear to help us survive. 

If there is a tiger chasing after us, that fear is what spikes us and helps us find ways to survive by helping our vision become clearer, and making our muscles stronger so we either run or fight.

In that instant, fear keeps us alive. It isn’t always bad for us and there are instances in our lives today where fear is necessary.

For example, if you are in a burning house and you don’t feel fear, then something may be wrong with you.

But now that we are living in a society that has elvolved so much and we are no longer in situations of life or death, fear has shifted to become something that isn’t real.

“Everything you want is on the other side of fear.” – Jack Canfield.

Why do we feel fear:

Most of the time, fear is just bad management of our mindset. It is stemming from what we are allowing ourselves to think or imagine as the end goal.

In our daily lives, there is one question we can always ask ourselves and that is : “What if”.

The answer to that question is going to define how we move on a daily basis.

So if you are leaning towards fear, your response is going to be:

‘What if is this doesn’t work?

What if I fail?

What if people don’t accept who I am?

When you understand where fear comes from, you become competent in it and from there, you become confident in it. In psychology, this is called the “The Confidence competency loop“.

For example, if you walk into an exam room without studying, you’ll be afraid because you’ll be apprehending failure.

Whereas, when you do take the time to read your notes and do your exercices, you begin to understand the subject, and you are more prepared, so facing the exam won’t scare you anymore.

The same thing applies to our fears. Once you understand where your fear is coming from, you will realize that it is nothing but an issue you have to deal with in your mind and only then can you break free from the negative cycle.

Now, let’s dive into the different types of fear and how you can overcome them.

Types of fear and how to overcome them:

Fear of loss :

This happens when we are afraid of losing something or someone while pursuing something bigger/greater.

Let’s say you want to lose weight. You will be anxious because you have to deprive yourself of tasty food and not being able to show up to places since you have to diet.

You might be terrified of quitting your job to start that busines you’ve always wanted to do because you will be losing your steady paycheck and you won’t be seeing your coworkers again.

As well as you might be scared of losing friends, or family members or even your spouse because they don’t believe in what you are doing and they don’t understand your vision/goals.

So, because there is a chance of you losing something, you will dread pursuing even bigger things.

This happened to me when I was making a career change.

I was contemplating between leaving my stable job with a lucrative pay as a doctor and starting my own business in an area which was still new to me and in which I wasn’t guaranteed success.

But I had to take a moment to understand where my fear was coming from and as I stepped out in faith, I decided to make a choice that was more personal and typical of me.

That was how I got over my fear.

How to overcome the fear of loss :

You need to reorient your mind to not focus on what you’re going to lose but more on what you are going to gain.

So, instead of fearing losing weight because we might stop eating our favorite, foods, we can choose to focus on the positives like being fitter, feeling better, being healthier and understanding that those gains outweigh the negatives.

Same thing with business. Focus on the freedom you can create/have and the bigger and better opportunities you will have that you couldn’t while working your  9-5 job.

Focusing on the gains helps you tame that pain or fear of missing out or losing something and that is how you learn to get over your fear of loss.

Fear of change :

As humans, we do not like change at all. Anything that equates to change is uncomfortable especially when it is hard.

When we think of losing weight, then we think the process is hard because we have to work out and keep ourselves from eating out late which is painful.

Same thing with starting a business. We have to put out time to grow that business, sometimes sacrifice our sleep, miss out on events or not hang out with people, and that is painful.

How do you overcome the fear of change :

By accepting it. There is positivity in challenge. Challenge is a good thing and we shouldn’t be afraid of it.

Infact, it is something we should embrace and run towards. Why? Because it is challenge that creates who we are and who we ultimately become.

Challenge is like the pressure used in making diamonds. You need that pressure to grow because the more you are pushed and stretched, the more you will be resilient and confident.

Understand that, although the road might be challenging in regards to the process of change, you don’t want to focus on how hard it is going to be.

You want to focus on how you can benefit from it because at the end of the day, those are the things that are going to help you grow and get you to where you need to be.

Remember, success is behind failure and you have to go through failure in order to reach success.

Fear of result :

The fear that all of this won’t be worth it.

What if I put in all this work, time and effort and make all these sacrifices and it doesn’t work out? What if my business fails or I don’t make any money or I don’t lose weight?

Imagine if all this happens and it is for nothing?

Just thinking about this is scary.

How do you overcome the fear of result?

You have to focus on the positive possibility. What if it works out?

Like I said, your answer to your ‘what if’ dictates the turn of events in your life and determines whether you are tapping more into your fear or not.

And we don’t want to tap into our fears, we want to tap in more into our faith mindset.

What if it does work out, you do become successful and achieve everything you’ve ever dreamed of?

Imagine you do find someone you love and who loves you back?

There are so many possibilities out there so why would you focus on things that would go wrong?

Focusing on the what ifs on the positive side is what is going to help you diminish the what ifs on the negative side.

You can’t drive out darkness with more darkness, only light can do that.

So you can’t drive away fear by focusing more on fear. You have to focus on hope, faith.

I believe anything we have in regards to our dreams, wants, desires, is given to us for a reason. So what if we aren’t meant for failure and that whatever we may be scared to pursue is actually our destiny and calling?

But let’s also be honest, sometimes it won’t work out but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t for a reason. We have to go  through certain things and fail at certain things to ultimately get to the success we need to.

But if we are not ready to do that in the first place, we are not going to get there in the end.

Conclusion :

Fear is something we can decide if we want to feed it or not.

It may be the fear of change, or the fear of result or what others might think, or the fear of not being good enough.

No matter what that fear might be, you don’t want to focus on it because it is just something happening in your mind and whenever that happens, you want to set your sight on all the possibilities/positives.

Focus on the direction you are going. Focus on your faith mindset, instead of your fear mindset.

At the end of that day, both situations are not real because they haven’t happened yet but what you can do now, is choose what realization you want to  happen in your life and work towards it.

That’s the beauty of being human; having the power of choice.

So today, choose hope, choose life, choose faith and build the future you deserve.

It isn’t over until it is over.

How to find your passion and what my passion is

If you’ve found this article then it means you have asked yourself the question ‘what is my passion?’

It’s a great question and it is my hope that this article will help you discover yours. Let’s first consider the following questions for how to find your passion:

  • What do you do that comes easily?
  • What would you enjoy doing without being paid for it?
  • What gets you up every morning?
  • What gets you excited?
  • What makes you smile when you think about doing it?

The answers to these questions should lead you to something you are passionate about. The problem is, many of us confuse our passions for our gifts.

The difference being is our passion is something that you seek out, something that you feel like you were meant to do.

Our gifts are the things that we were born with, something that is there no matter what.

What Is My Passion?

Your passion is something that can change throughout your life but it will always be something that you think is interesting.

By focusing on the questions listed above you can start to hone in on what truly sparks something within you. It could be making money in new and interesting ways, building a product that simplifies everyday life, or it could be that you love learning about animals. 

By simply looking inwards you will be able to figure out how to find your passion.

Unfortunately, I can’t tell you exactly what your passion is, only you can answer that question. But what comes next is the best part, figuring out how to grow that passion into something more.

Maybe even into a new stream of income. In order to do that we need to look at finding your purpose.

Finding Your Purpose

What I mean by your purpose is what is your meant to do once you’ve found your passion.

Are you an educator, an entertainer, a researcher, or something else entirely?

Take music as an example, you can be passionate about music and use that to teach people guitar. Maybe you will be the frontman of a band or even a DJ who plays songs in clubs or on the radio.

Here’s what you should do if you don’t know what your gifts are or how to use them. Follow your curiosity, really dig deep and explore the topics you enjoy.

If you didn’t have to worry about money and things like that what is the one thing you would want to do? Where would you go and what would you do once you’re there?

I believe that the thing we’re most curious about is the thing we need to start putting some effort into.

If you can do that then not only can you feed your innate desires but you might figure out how to find your dream job. It’s your responsibility to take this seriously as we approach the next step.

Figuring out what my passion is and what my purpose is – that’s the easy part. 

Developing Your Passion and Purpose

Lesson: It’s okay to lean on others when you doubt yourself. If it wasn’t for his wife, Stephen King may never have finished Carrie.

Lesson: You are never too old to become a success. Sanders knew his chicken was the best in the business.

There’s one compelling reason for diversifying your content strategy and that’s because everyone learns differently. Some people prefer to listen so a podcast is ideal for them.

Others will prefer to watch and they learn and retain information better when they are watching a video. You have some people who like long-form content so would prefer to read a blog post.

While others like short-form content which is where killer Instagram post ideas come in handy.


The best advice I can leave you with now is to just get started. Don’t wait until the perfect time, just pick one thing on this list and start. Get the ball rolling and learn on the way, that’s what I did when I started out with video.

What if I said you could be more confident and completely get rid of procrastination in just 5 seconds, would you believe me? Well, that’s what I’m telling you right now! With the 5 second rule, you can completely change your mindset. Stop your feelings and habits from getting in the way of progress, and start achieving more. 

It just takes 5 seconds to change your life.

Allow me the next few minutes to explain how exactly this works and why you need to start implementing the 5-second rule. This article is going to explain exactly what it is, how to use it, and how you can be back in control instantly!

The 5 Second Rule

The 5-second rule is a method by the best-selling author and motivational speaker Mel Robbins. It comes from her book titled “The 5 Second Rule” which has helped millions to break free from their habits and start achieving their goals.

Mel Robbins’ 5-second rule is really simple but powerful and can help you overcome a lot of issues you may be facing. Basically, the idea is that when you have the instinct to do something productive towards one of your goals, you need to physically move yourself within 5 seconds before that thought is “shut down” by your brain.

Let’s say for example one of your goals is to get back into the gym. I’m sure that most of us have been at that point where we think it’s time to start getting back into shape. We know it’s something we need to do but we sit on the idea, put it off, and it doesn’t happen. There are countless reasons and excuses we might give ourselves to avoid going.

Mel Robbins’ Book explains that this actually boils down to our habits. Our habits kick in and convince us not to do the things we want to do (and what we need to do). These habits are responsible for between 50-60% of the actions we take each day. Even scrolling on Instagram or TikTok is habitual. Which is why we spend more time on those platforms than at the gym!

Sometimes we don’t even realize that it’s happening. That’s because these habits are so hardwired into our brains that they barely cross our minds. Hitting the snooze button in the morning is a habit that you can change with this simple 5 second rule. When it comes to getting up in the morning you can commit to getting up within 5 second otherwise you’ll hit the snooze and go right back to sleep, again (I’ve been there).

Break Free From Your Habits

Mel Robbins uses herself as an example of someone who has a hard time motivating themselves to do the things they need to get done. In her book, she talks openly about the issues that she had in her life. They included a battle with alcoholism, not having a job, her marriage falling apart, and almost being bankrupt.

Faced with this uphill battle, Mel found that she couldn’t motivate herself to do anything that would help with her situation. I completely sympathize with Mel, sometimes it is difficult to find motivation at the best of times, and even harder when things are stacked up against you.

Luckily for Mel, and by applying the 5-second rule, she was able to pinpoint exactly when her motivation would fade away. It was after 5 seconds of motivation striking. Mel realized that if she sprung into action before the end of her 5-second countdown she would be able to do what she needed to do.

In the mornings after her alarm would go off, Mel would start a countdown from 5. If 5 seconds passed she knew that she would hit the snooze button and that would be that. But, if Mel could plant both feet on the ground and stand up before the 5 seconds was up, she would be able to start her day and get on with her tasks.

The 5-second rule isn’t something that can only be used in the morning as a way to get up. It is a useful tool at any time and can be used to combat all sorts of things. It can help people who struggle with procrastination and it can help you against unwanted feelings like worrying and anxiety.

How Can We Use The 5 Second Rule In Our Lives?

I want you to think of a goal in your mind. It could be benching 220 at the gym, building your own business, or getting 10,000 followers on Instagram. Whatever it is you want to achieve, certain things you need to do to be successful – and they may not always be fun.

You may need to start cold calling, arranging meetings, or getting that membership card for the gym. These are the kinds of things you may not feel like doing and motivating yourself to do them is hard. But the truth is you need to find a way to get over that. It’s preventing your growth as a person and as an entrepreneur. 

If you let your feelings control your actions then it’s going to stop you being able to get things done. It’s the small actions that you take today that are responsible for building your dreams of tomorrow. Our feelings and habits will keep us boxed in our comfort zone. If we allow that to happen then we end up nowhere. 

We need to make use of Mel Robbins 5 second rule to push past these moments. If we let them win, then our feelings and habits will get in the way of progressing towards our goal.

Instead, we can start using the 5-second rule to bypass our feelings, block our habitual instincts, rewire our brain, and start achieving our goals. Here’s what I want you to do, the next time you start thinking about your goals, initiate a 5-second countdown. Before the end of the countdown physically move towards something to do with your goal.

If it’s in the morning, then your physical movement could be getting up out of bed. When inspiration strikes during the day, move towards something that will help you with the task. If you suddenly feel like playing some piano, you have 5 seconds to start moving towards the piano before your brain will shut the idea down.

Whatever crosses your mind, remember you only have 5 seconds to start physically moving before habits kick in. That’s just 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. It’s not long but it’s long enough to work.

Why Does The 5 Second Rule Work?

The 5-second rule is backed by science as it’s known that counting down from 5 is enough to stimulate your frontal cortex. The frontal cortex the part of the brain responsible for decision making. It will also decrease the influence of your basal ganglia, the part of the brain responsible for your habits. That’s the part that says SNOOZE!

The 5-second countdown is enough to cut through the noise inside your brain. Putting you solely in control. Essentially it stops us from falling into habit mode. Easy to see how this could help you start your day right.

My favorite thing about Mel Robbins 5 second rule is that it’s so easy to understand and put into practice. I think that this is such a good technique to learn because it stretches beyond just motivating ourselves. 

You know those times where you’re feeling really pumped, energized, and ready to take on the world? Then the next day, when it’s time to do it and that energy, is just gone… I know I’m guilty of it on more than one occasion! This is when your feelings take over and your reaction is nowhere near what you wanted it to be. Instead of “let’s get to it”, it’s more like, “I’ll stay in bed for an hour, then maybe I’ll get around to it”.

The great thing about the 5-second rule is that you are no longer relying on sporadic motivation. This tool is something practical that you can rely on. It can help you on the road to success with just 5 seconds at a time. Gain mastery over your life, reach your goals and help you be the person you want to be.


To be successful you need to start by mastering yourself, controlling your habits, and not let them control you. Use the 5-second rule to hack your brain’s functions and start making more progress towards your goals immediately. The technique is so simple, you can start straight away.

That sounds all fun and dandy but what does that mean as a network marketer?

In a nutshell, attraction marketing is a way to attract prospects and customers to you by adding value to the market place, solving problems, and serving your target audience by creating content that addresses your target market’s challenges.

This is why sending prospects to your website and spamming the internet with company signup links in hopes of a desperate soul clicking on it and joining your business because they are looking for a second stream of income and keeping their options open doesn’t really work.

I’m not saying you will NEVER get results this way. There are many marketers who do get a few sales and signups like this. I’m including myself in this sample because I used to do it too!

But if you are serious about building a long term, sustainable business (which I am sure you are otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this) than attraction marketing is a must.

Instead of pitching your business opportunity to a prospect, provide VALUE to them. Offer some type of solution to help them solve a problem that they are struggling with.

When you do this by creating content and becoming an authority figure, people will literally be ATTRACTED to you. They wont be able to help it!

What’s even better is that these people who are attracted to you will ask you what you are doing, and some will even ask you to join your business.

To many, this is a much more ideal than having to chase person after person down to watch a 20-minute business presentation.
